Bnai Mitzvah

BRANDON ALEXANDER GOLDSTEIN, son of Jessica and Gary Goldstein, will celebrate becoming a Bar Mitzvah on Saturday, Oct. 15 at Temple Emanu-El.
He is the grandson of Kayla and the late Federick Goldstein of Jamesville, N.Y., Arlene and Myron Marshall of Conn., and Lyn Tornabene of Tucson.
Brandon attends Esperero Middle School. His interests include baseball, skiing, swimming and basketball. For his mitzvah project, he is organizing a donation for victims of Hurricane Katrina.


JORDAN KAGAN PUTT, son of Jill and David Putt, will celebrate becoming a Bar Mitzvah on Saturday, Oct. 15 with Congregation Chaverim at the Jewish Community Center.
He is the grandson of Henry and Catherine Kagan and Dolores Putt of Tucson.
Jordan attends Fickett Math/Science Magnet Middle School where he is an honor student and a member of the National Junior Honor Society. He plays saxophone in the advanced band and plays football for the Scorpions, a team associated with the Tucson Youth Football and Spirit Association. He enjoys skateboarding, listening to music and playing guitar. For his mitzvah project, Jordan made a donation to the Jewish Foundation for the Righteous, an organization that provides financial assistance to 1,700 needy Christian people who participated in rescuing Jews during the Holocaust.


REID CAMERON FRANCIS, son of Monica Weiss and John Francis, celebrated becoming a Bar Mitzvah on Saturday, June 25 in Durango, Colo.
He is the grandson of Thelma and the late Dr. Frank Weiss of Tucson.
Reid attended Tucson Hebrew Academy for four years. His interests include Hebrew studies, tennis, horseback riding, snow sports and golf.

ANITA KELLMAN and PATTE LAZARUS won a Dynamic Duo Award from Compass Health Care. The pair, nominated by Fran Katz, won the "Healthier Community" Award, one of seven annual awards, for creating Breast Cancer Boot Camp, an exercise program that empowers women to take control of their lives. The winners were honored at the 10th Annual Dynamic Duo Awards gala last month.
